How healthy is your workplace?

The Health and Safety Executive UK reported that the total number of cases of stress in 2011/12 was 428 000 (40%) out of a total of 1 073 000 for all work-related illnesses. Stress is a known cause of many long-term conditions.

Figures for stress related illness were highest in human health and social work, education and public administration and defence with health professionals (in particular nurses) being highest.  Next in line were educational professionals, and caring personal services (in particular welfare and housing associate professionals). The main cause of stress was relationships in the workplace.

Studies have found what we have already known for some time, in that the positive benefits of vacations fade quickly, often within days. This may be because a typical break from work does little or nothing to change our patterns of behaviour, or our mental state. Once we return we fall back into the same old groove. A Compassion Field Wellness break supports new behaviours that you can continue once home again that offer a way to regularly prime better mood and motivation toward improved health and wellbeing.

It comes as no surprise that managers have got to look at how to reduce the amount of productivity lost due to employee absence. Forward thinking companies and organisations are focusing increasingly on Wellness Programmes.  At Compassion Field we are dedicated to helping to foster a healthier workplace for future generations. Wellness days can be an excellent example of rewarding employee participation.

At Compassion Field we offer wellness days which integrate choices which are adapted to fit the workplace setting. These incorporate:-

  • meditation practices including mindfulness meditation adapted from MBSR / MBCT
  • mindful coaching
  • using mindfulness to deal with difficulty
  • mindful movement including Tibetan yoga
  • Traditional Chinese accupuncture

We also offer Mindfulness Meditation Works weekend breaks which may include in addition to the above:-

  • consultation /workshop on natural nutrition in the role of building health
  • Reiki treatments
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Cranio-sacral therapy
